October Ties for 5th Warmest; Winter Forecast Uncertain

Climate Central: With the year-to-date running as the eight-warmest on record, October 2012 tied with 2005 for the globe's fifth-warmest such month since recordkeeping began in 1880, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
