Tearful Gillibrand Leads Senators Seeking Aid After Sandy
Bloomberg: Senator Kirsten Gillibrand was near tears when she told colleagues about a Staten Island family's tragedy in Superstorm Sandy as she and other lawmakers appealed for federal aid. An assistance package could be introduced in Congress as early as tomorrow. Gillibrand, a New York Democrat, haltingly recounted the experience of a mother whose two young children were swept from her arms in a flood as they left their home heading for safety with relatives in Brooklyn.
